The UNC School of Graduate Studies – Center for Adult and Lifelong Learning is the first and only graduate school in Bicol granted by Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) with Level III Accreditation in both Business and Education programs, making it not only the pioneer graduate school in the region but number 1 in graduate education.

The University of Nueva Caceres – School of Graduate Studies is taking an active role in community and nation-building through the inception of its Center for Adult and Lifelong Learning (Center for ALL). We will synergize our professional adult education expertise, facilities, linkages, research capability and community engagement to blaze the trail in lifelong learning.

Doctor of Philosophy, Major in Behavioral Management

Program Educational Objectives

Within three to five years, graduates of the Doctor of Philosophy Major in Behavioral Management Program should be able to:

1.) Have a thorough understanding of the philosophies, principles and theories of leadership and behavioral management and pursue lifelong learning on the application of these principles through continuous search for knowledge or through research.

2.) Possess usable skills and competencies in leading people mindfully, managing processes efficiently and transforming professional contexts creatively; and

3.) Become agents of change, transforming local, national and global professional landscapes.

Doctor of Education, Major in in Educational Leadership & Management

Program Educational Objectives

Within three to five years, graduates of the Doctor of Education major in Educational Leadership & Management should be able to:

1.) Uphold moral uprightness and social responsibility in the practice of their professions contributing to the development of a just, humane and progressive society.

2.) Nurture the graduates’ leading-edge competencies towards global competitiveness.

3.) Cultivate personal excellence through engagement in continuous improvement activities.

Program Objectives

The Lighthouse

Since time immemorial, a lighthouse serves as a brilliant beacon for sea travelers and seafarers, an iconic welcome to those arriving. For voyagers out at sea, engulfed in darkness, blanketed by cold, a lighthouse is a sentinel of hope and a pillar of strength. Equally romantic and scenic, it is a sight to behold.

Beaming over the stormy seas, a lighthouse offers safety, stability and security. It symbolizes moving forward and finding our way to the safe harbor, amid adversity and through the challenging and changing time. As a shining portal, it represents guidance in navigating through waters, whatever the treacherous tides and the journey mean.

Steady and mighty, tall and towering, a lighthouse embodies the lofty ideals and nobility of mankind. It is a metaphor for the human spirit, kindling light in the darkness, reaching from the earth to the heavens.

Students are like sailors, they are on a journey. Learners are like explorers sailing towards a destination. The path to education and the learning process may be rough and tough, but teachers make the positive difference. The teachers do to the students, what the lighthouse does to the voyagers – guide and guard them to find their way, their voice and their place in the world.

Like a lighthouse, the teachers pass on light and knowledge, rendering selfless service through the generations. Sacrifices are costly to keep the lighthouse fire ablaze. Teachers are lighthouse, for all the beautiful attributes and ideals it stands for. All institutions here and abroad who edify adult and lifelong learners will be a lighthouse of humanity; the beacon of ages. And we know full well that the main and mighty source of our light is God Almighty.
