UNC Senior High School Department is home to the most outstanding students in the region: recognized young leaders and achievers in various disciplines. Our alumni have created big names in many industries today — be it in the local, national, or international scene.

One thing that makes our high school students excel in both academics and life is the support they get from our educators. Our teachers utilize modern, innovative strategies in instruction. Classes are mostly heterogeneous, facilitating balanced and exciting interaction during lectures and discussions.

On top of that, since we are majority-owned by AC Education, UNC provides the Learning with Industry Collaboration (LINC) program for senior high school students. Whether the students prefer to pursue and succeed in college or enter the workforce directly, this program arms them with the appropriate capabilities. It also complements the academic strands that senior high school students choose under the K-12 program.

Strand Offerings

Accountancy, Business, and Management Strand

The Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand is designed for SHS learners who want to be future accountants and entrepreneurs. This helps to develop the learners’ communication skills, expand their Math skills, refine their Presentation skills, and prepare them for Accounting and Business courses.

Program Outcomes


By the time of graduation, the ABM learners shall have the ability to:

1. Develop logical reasoning in solving practical mathematical problems;
2. Demonstrate effective communication through different forms that occur across various contexts;
3. Create research and scientific innovations that would address problems of the community;
4. Employ thinking and critical work habits and life values through collaboration; and
5. Apply business and technological skills in industry-relevant simulations, projects, problems, and case studies.

General Academic Strand

The General Academic Strand (GAS) is great for SHS learners who are multi-disciplined. These learners are those who excel not just in one or two subjects but in most of the subjects in school. This strand is recommended for learners who are still undecided on which college course to take.

Humanities and Social Sciences Strand

The Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand focuses on exploring societal changes and human behavior. Learners do this through observation, research, and community service. This allows learners to evaluate their interpersonal relationships in the contexts of politics, the arts, and other humanities. Through HUMSS, learners gain exposure to a variety of cultures that are extremely rich in literature, politics, and language.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Strand

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Strand is an educational program developed to prepare the SHS learners for college and careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This is skill-oriented, multidisciplinary, and data driven.

Program Outcomes 

By the time of graduation, the STEM learners shall have the ability to:

1. Develop logical reasoning in solving practical mathematical problems;
2. Demonstrate effective communication through different forms that occur across various contexts;
3. Create research and scientific innovations that would address problems of the community;
4. Employ thinking and critical work habits and life values through collaboration; and
5. Use scientific skills through scientific method and experimentation.

Information and Communications Technology Strand Specialization: Computer Programming

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Strand specializing in Computer Programming prepares learners through activities and certifications such as CISCO, an American technology company, operating worldwide, it is best known for its computer networking products. With this, learners are equipped with different coding and programming languages like JAVA, CSS, and HTML before they get immersed in the different IT Industries.

Program Outcomes 

By the time of graduation, the ICT-CP learners shall have the ability to:

1. Develop logical reasoning in solving practical mathematical problems;
2. Demonstrate effective communication through different forms that occur across various contexts;
3. Create research and scientific innovations that would address problems of the community;
4. Employ thinking and critical work habits and life values through collaboration; and
5. Utilize programming language to solve and create systems.

Home Economics Strand Specialization: Food and Beverage Services

The Home Economics (HE) Strand specializing in Food and Beverage Services will lead the SHS learners to get National Certification (NC 2) that is recognized by TESDA. This strand helps them to start working right after SHS graduation. The learners will be equipped with skills that are needed for work immersion in hotels and restaurants here in Naga.

By the time of graduation, the HE-FBS learners shall have the ability to:

1. Develop logical reasoning in solving practical mathematical problems;
2. Demonstrate effective communication through different forms that occur across various contexts;
3. Create research and scientific innovations that would address problems of the community; and
