Celebrating Excellence: UNC Organizations Recognized as Accredited Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines 2024!

by | Nov 26, 2024 | Announcement, Updates

The University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) proudly celebrates an extraordinary milestone. Four exceptional organizations from our beloved university have been officially recognized as accredited clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines 2024. These organizations— UNC Junior High School Association of Community Extension Volunteers, UNC Junior High School Supreme Secondary Learner Government, UNC Senior High School Supreme Student Government, and The Democrat—have earned this prestigious recognition from the National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBUCP). This honor highlights UNC’s unwavering commitment to fostering leadership, community engagement, and meaningful contributions within and beyond our campus.
Adding to this remarkable achievement, these accredited organizations will receive their certificates of accreditation during the highly anticipated International Assembly of Youth for UNESCO 2024, from November 29 to December 1, 2024, at the City State Asturias Hotel in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

UNESCO AND NCBUCP

The National Coordinating Body of Clubs for UNESCO in the Philippines (NCBUCP) remains steadfast in its mission to bring the principles of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to schools and communities nationwide. Through dynamic initiatives rooted in education, culture, social sciences, science and technology, and communication, NCBUCP plays a pivotal role in bringing UNESCO’s global vision to life. By fostering collaboration among schools, organizations, and communities, NCBUCP ensures that UNESCO’s values— such as promoting peace, cultural understanding, and sustainable development—are upheld and deeply integrated into everyday life. This comprehensive approach bridges the gap between local initiatives and global goals, creating a ripple effect of positive, transformative change across the country.

UNC’s Quest for Global Excellence

Having been recognized as an accredited club for UNESCO in the Philippines is a prestigious accomplishment. The journey involves a rigorous process meticulously designed to select only the most capable and deserving organizations in the country. From the submission of required documents (Level 1) to successfully passing the final interview with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines (Level 4), each stage challenges organizations to prove their commitment, capacity, and alignment with UNESCO’s mission and values.
Out of 451 applicants who submitted their requirements last September 2, 2024, via Google Form, only 250 passed the initial screening. Following the Panel Interview (Level 2) and Mentoring Session (Level 3), 130 applicants advanced to the Final Interview (Level 4) with the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines. Finally, 104 organizations emerged successful and were entitled to receive their certificate of accreditation.

The University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) takes pride in its accredited organizations, which have demonstrated unparalleled dedication and excellence throughout this process. Despite the challenges, UNC’s organizations not only rose to the occasion but surpassed expectations, cementing their status as leaders in fostering peace, culture, education, and social impact. This distinction underscores why UNC remains the Best BET for Bicolano learners aspiring to achieve their goals and create meaningful change.

A Legacy of Excellence: Shaping Leaders for a Better Tomorrow

These recent achievements underscore the university’s unwavering dedication to producing socially responsible, globally competent, and transformational leaders. By fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and community engagement, UNC ensures that its students are equipped with the skills and values necessary to create solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. Guided by our enduring motto, Non Scholae, Sed Vitae—Not for School, But for Life, this milestone reflects how we, as proud UNCeans, transcend the boundaries of the classroom to create meaningful, real-world impact. Through our dedication to purposeful living and fostering positive change, we continue to leave a lasting imprint on society, inspiring others to do the same.
